Update on the Week of February 15, 2021 COVID tests at Advanced Pediatrics

Last week was truly a national catastrophe for weather and disrupted deliveries of urgently important medical supplies and tests.

Overall, 6 million doses of the COVID vaccine could not be delivered causing 6 million people to be told they could not get vaccine at their appointment.

This week, the weather has improved, and all deliveries are now returning to normal.  The 6 million doses from last week will be shipped this week and the doses given doubled.

Here at Advanced Pediatrics, we had the COVID-19 swabbing process disrupted, too.  For this we are deeply apologetic for all the inconveniences this may have caused.

The update for today is that all the test swabs from February 15-19 have been delivered successfully to our lab, but they only received them last night, Sunday, February 21, 2021.

All these tests are going to be run at the lab, and we will report results as they come in.   Even with the delay, the quality control professionals at our lab tell us that all positive results will continue to be highly, highly reliable.  As always, a negative test could be a false negative.

Again, our apologies for the inconvenience.  This week we anticipate returning to our highly reliable delivery and reporting system with results in hand within 48 hours again, as they have been almost all of the last nearly year.

    To your health,
    Dr. Arthur Lavin
