Glossary

• Virus– a type of germ that consists solely of a bit of genetic material (DNA or RNA) wrapped in a protein coat.  The coat gets the genes into the target cell where the genes force the cell to make zillions of new viruses, and on it goes.
• Coronavirus– a species name of a number of different viruses.  Called corona because its protein coat is studded with spike shapes that form a crown, halo, or corona of spikes
• SARS-CoV-2– the specific name of the new coronavirus
• COVID-19-the name of the illness that the new coronavirus is causing
• Endemic– an illness always present in a region.  One could say strep throat is endemic in the US
• Epidemic– a sudden burst of an illness that comes and goes over a limited time
• Pandemic– an epidemic that bursts across the world not just one region
• Spreadability– how contagious is the disease, how many people will end up infected
• Severity– what harm does the disease cause, in terms of  how sick you get and how many it will kill
• Mask- a mask is a loose-fitting cloth or textile that covers the mouth and nose loosely.  A surgical mask is a mask used in surgery
• Respirator-  for the purposes of the COVID-19 pandemic and other respiratory illnesses, a respirator is a mask that fits very snugly or tightly to the user’s face.  An N95 mask is a respirator.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)- PPE are any item that covers any part of the body with the design and intent of keeping viruses in the environment from infecting the wearer of the PPE. PPE’s include all masks (which includes respirators), face shields, eye shields, gloves, gowns.
• Ventilator- a ventilator is a machine that can force a person unable to breathe to inhale and exhale and control both effectively.  They are sometimes called respirators, but during this pandemic the word respirator is now reserved for reference to a tightly fit mask.

Urgent Plea:  Never Use Disinfectant Inside the Body, Any Body

This will likely be our shortest COVID-19 update.

This is a point of information I never anticipated having to share, but when a world leader, in particular our leader even hints that putting a disinfectant inside one’s body could cure COVID-19, the point needs to be urgently made.

Here are the simple facts:

• All disinfectants share the ability to completely dissolve the structures of all living viruses, and cells.  This includes soaps, detergents, disinfectant wipes and sprays, alcohol, hydrogen peroxide.
• These products are useful outside the body, on floors, and counter tops, even washing hands.  They work so well precisely because of their ability to destroy all living material.
• The problem is that all these products, since they completely dissolve the structures of all living cells, will dissolve any cell of yours that you place in contact with the disinfectant.
• Simply put, putting disinfectant into any human body is a sure path to killing that person.

One might ask, what happens if I wash a cut with disinfectant, doesn’t that kill my cells that it touches in the cut?  The answer is yes, but these are surface structure cells that easily regenerate, just as such tissues heal from the destruction of the cut or abrasion itself.

The injection of disinfectant into a body has never been even considered as a medical action.  It has only been seen in situations where the intent was the death of the person.  In recent times such actions are only known to occur in suicidal actions.  During periods of torture, most vividly, in the concentration camps of Germany, disinfectants were injected as known, familiar, cruel acts of raw torture.

Injecting is not the only way to destroy a person with disinfectant.  Most of these products can cause permanent damage to the throat and esophagus if swallowed.  So never swallow them either.

BOTTOM LINE

Do not, never ever, even think about putting any disinfectant into one’s body, by swallowing, by injecting, by any way whatosever, ever.

Doing so can cause permanent damage, and easily can cause death.

I am sorry to have to issue such a dire warning, but if anyone, no matter who, puts out advice that reaches many ears, and can cause terrible, permanent harm, it is important for those who know the potential harm to issue just such clarifications.
